BEIRUT WILL BECOME SHORT OF SKY-VIEW SOON

These photos taken from my dining room where I sit often shows what DAMAGE the frenzy of construction is doing to Lebanon the  and especially in Ashrafieh
I live in what was one of the most beautiful and quiet streets of Beirut, Sursock Street.
This street was classified until 2000 street of traditional character.

It was a jewelry of the architectural heritage of Beirut
From 2000 it is no longer  the case.
50 percent of old houses, domains and castles  collapsed before the height complex of buildings builders, with no laws or authority to restrain them

Even the sky has had its share of destruction

In a very short time we will not see any stretch of sky from my window
The blue color will go away forever
This is the hell that wants to bequeath the constructors of  concrete

INSPIRATIONS OF BEIRUT

INSPIRATIONS OF BEIRUT

Gemayzeh

Nothing prevents you to go further, but you must count  the return journey.
The three main streets invite walking and  put you in good physical and mental health.

That is to say : Gemmayze (Gouraud), the Staircase del'art, Sursock and Fouad Chehab.
No better feeling for Beirut discovery in the morning before starting his day.

I must admit, the Staircase of the Art or Saint Nicolas Stairs, always makes me dreamy.

The things that make the happiness of life are not many, ARCHITECTURE is one of them.

You must pass through the stairway of ART once in life

Just true happiness for short
Feel the steps
  chasing you
Feel the wind pass you,
breath of pure oxygen into the city,  that comes from the port in front of you
Feel the art of making something great, but at the same time so simple
Feel tired and the idea that we must at all costs finish the last stair up.

Yes, it is for the climb that we measure up with the stairs
Going down THE STAIRS only TEST YOU
